Well it has been a while since I blogged last and I have to say that God has been working on me big time. There are some exciting things that are happening and some really cool people that I have met. I look forward to the future and what God has planned right around the corner. I cannot wait to see what happens and what He is going to do in the very near future. My prayer is that God would make me so weak so I have to depend on Him for everything. That is not easy to do sometimes, but I look to God for my direction and know that without Him I would be worthless and hopeless. Depend on Him and He will meet your every need. Can’t wait to see what He has in store!

Broadcast is Coming…Do you love God?

In one day Broadcast will be happening, Wed. Night 6:00 and it is gonna be incredible. Do you love God? How about people? Sometimes we have to look deep to find out if we are really loving others by loving God. Wednesday is gonna be amazing so do not miss out on what God has planned.

331…what does that mean?

Well 331 is the number of people who attended Cross View this past weekend. That’s right 331 people in Rockmart, GA. It was incredible to see that many people passionate and excited about what God is doing through Cross View. I am so pumped about the coming days at the church and I cannot wait to see the doors God is getting ready to open. If you have not experienced Cross View yet, what are you waiting for? Get ready for life change.

It’s hot, It’s cold, Make up your Mind!

I am pretty sure Georgia is the only state in the nation that has the type of weather change that we encounter on an almost daily basis. It makes me sick. Not like angry sick…like it literally makes me sick. Holly and I both had a rough week of coughing, sneezing and all that good old congestion that makes you feel warm and fuzzy inside. It was 65 yesterday and today it may snow! I do not even try and understand the weather anymore, but I do believe that God has picked Georgia out of the entire world to have a little fun with. Just to keep us guessing and get a good chuckle when we bundle up for the day and it is hot enough for shorts when we get outside. But my favorite is when it actually happens in one day, 30 in the morning and 80 in the afternoon. Oh it doesn’t get any better than that. Well I don’t mind really because I will take good home cooking in Georgia over anything else.

A guy I call “A-Town”

Well if you do not understand why I believe my God rocks the whole universe…then let me introduce you to “A-Town” or as most people know him Anthony. Anthony Millsap and his wife Brittany came on our staff for No Money. Let me say that again, zero dollars, nada, a big old goose egg. But as God has worked it out Anthony is our Lead Youth Pastor now and making a whopping salary. Haha…Just Kidding we are a church plant come on. But I cannont even begin to say how blessed I am to know this man. He has shown his heart and is one of the most transparent guys I know. He has a passion for students and works his butt off to get the job done. If you are a youth pastor or even a pastor out there and need to know how to do ministry, then come spend one day watching Anthony. The thing I love most about Anthony is that He has no clue what he is doing. That’s right. He is a newbie in the ministry world and does not have any idea what he is gonna do next, but he has shown more hard work and devotion to God then I have seen in some people who call themselves “Ministers” in their whole ministry. I am honored and blessed to already call this guy my friend and if you don’t know him then what are you waiting on? Get off your butt and meet him and his wife. They are two of the sweetest people you will ever meet and have such a heart for God and student ministry. So Big Ups to my man “A-Town” for the job he did tonight and I know God is gonna use him in a great way.

Don’t hate him because He’s Beautiful.

So God is pretty freakin amazing…am I right?

So we have been trying to sell our house for a while now. Is it sold yet? No….but I know God has some amazing things working. I am just really excited about the things that God is doing. Cross View is blowing up, my marriage is kicking, the friendships we have made in the past 6 months are ones I can see lasting a lifetime, and God pretty much always melts my face off. I am beyond pumped about the very near future and I cannot wait to see what kind of things are gonna happen. It blows my mind to even think about it!! Can you tell that I am excited!! AHHHHH!!! I AM SO EXCITED!!!! Anyways….let God rock your world today…no matter what happens!

Can you be too Excited?

I do not know how excited one person can be. How much is too excited? I do not think I can even put a number on how excited I am and our church is right now. We are on the move! And if you haven’t heard about Cross View, then you should probably put your video game controller down, stopping eating those hot wings, stop watching Man Vs. Food on the Travel Channel (or Food network) and ask somebody about what is going on in Rockmart. I promise you that you won’t have to go very far to find out about the awesome things that are happening in little old Rockmart. Buckle your safety belts cause you are going to need them. And could someone go ahead and start looking for a bigger location? Because we are going to need one very soon.

A quick trip to Ellijay today.

Today Danny and I traveled to Ellijay to my parents house to talk to my dad and a cool cat named Stan about ministry. An awesome time to really hear some great wisdom from a guy who worked 25 years alongside Billy Graham. Well some good lunch and 3 hours later and I felt some great things were talked about and accomplished. I am excited about the future and the great things that are happening at Cross View. Can’t wait!

How can you Fireproof a marriage?

In a few weeks we will be starting a new series called Fireproof. Yes it is off the movie that came out this past year. Let me just say…if you are married and have not seen this movie, then you need to go buy it or rent it next week when it comes out and sit down with the one you love (or maybe the one you are struggling with) and watch this movie. Fireproof is one of those movies that makes me realize how lucky I am to have my wife in my life. Holly and I have an unbelievable marriage. We laugh and cry together, we have been through ups and downs and we know that God has something great planned for us. Watching this movie together just affirmed in me how much I love my wife and it will do the same for you. If you have struggled in your marriage, watch this movie. It is not Hollywood…it is reality. This is a real life representation of what happens every day throughout the world. So starting February 8th we will be talking about a subject that a lot of people deal with…failing marriages and what you need to do to get back on track. When you know you are making a difference.

I find myself constantly attacked by satan. He tries to discourage me, get me off track, frustrate me and most of the time he throws enough at me to do a pretty good job. But I always know even after those moments that God is doing an incredible work with me and the talents he has given me. Last night Holly and I went to a banquet for Consumed Artist Agency. Consumed is a Christian music agency that me and my buddy Mark started a little over a year ago and since I have had to step down from actually taking ownership in the company God has done some amazing things. Mark has gotten hooked up with an organization called “Operation Nicaragua” and it is exciting to see where that is going to go. This Ministry is much like a World Vision or Compassion group where you can adopt children from all over the world and you pay monthly to provide medical and nutritional needs for them. The only difference with “Operation Nicaragua” is that they focus on kids right there in the country, which by the way is the third poorest nation in the world. It looks as if I am going to be able to have a profound impact in the life of this ministry….and I cannot wait! I have known for a long time that I have had a huge heart for kids who live in orphanages or may not even have anywhere to live and “Operation Nicaragua” just broke ground 2 weeks ago on a brand new orphanage for this kids who right now are living literally on top of trash. So my prayer that the ministry there is that we would get people all over that we know to not only pray but to get involved with the kids by sponsoring them so they don’t have to live that way any longer. We need to pray for Nicaragua because there is a hurt there that only the love of Jesus can fix.
